Objectives

The Austrian-Romanian Science Days are organised in order to further stimulate and intensify the co-operation in science, research and higher education between Austria and Romania. The objectives of the Austrian-Romanian Science Days are
  • to assess the success of ongoing cooperation activities;

  • to provide user-friendly practical information on a wide spectrum of programmes and initiatives supporting cooperation in science, research and higher education;

  • to arrange meetings between potential academic as well as industrial partners from Austria and Romania for new collaborative research activities in the areas of Environment and Energy;

  • to enhance and deepen the contacts in higher education and research between Romanian and Austrian universities.

The Information Day will provide excellent opportunities for university leaders, researchers, intermediaries and government officials in higher education and research to get up-to date information on programmes, funding instruments and services for cooperation while at the same time meeting researchers and other experts from both countries for future collaborative activities.

The target groups of the Environment & Energy Partnering Day will be researchers from universities, non-university research organisations and industry. The partnering meetings will be arranged on the basis of partnering profiles collected from the participants in the course of the registration. The profiles will be matched as a basis for arranging the exact meeting schedule for the Partnering Day. Experts will be present to provide information and to answer practical questions regarding suitable funding and assistance opportunities.

During the University Partnering Day representatives from Romanian universities will have the opportunity of site visits to universities in Vienna: University of Vienna, Vienna University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), and Vienna University of Technology. The objectives of the visits are to explore possibilities for developing new partnerships and deepening existing collaboration in joint study programmes, projects and research activities.

The organisers hope that promising new project ideas and new promising collaborative partnerships will be identified as results of the Austrian-Romanian Science Days.
