The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)  is the central national agency for funding and promoting research, development and innovation. With a broad spectrum of funding programmes and services, FFG supports research and development projects of Austrian companies and research organisations.

Our objective is the sustainable strengthening of Austria as a business location. As actor in the Austrian innovation system we support the competitiveness of the Austrian economic and scientific community nationally as well as internationally.

The key objective of the Division of European and International Programmes (EIP) of FFG is the strengthening of the participation of Austrian researchers from academia and industry in European and International R&D programmes and initiatives.

Researchers from companies, universities, research organisations and other actors are provided with targeted information, advice and coaching free of charge.  The team at the Division of European and International Programmes consists of some 45 experts covering all thematic fields with experience in the academic as well as corporate sector. All experts have hands on experience in European R&D Programmes and Initiatives as project partners or/and coordinators, project evaluators or expert group members.

FFG is 100% owned by the Austrian Republic, represented by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy and Labour as well as the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology.

Activities of the Division of European and International Programmes are supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Health, Family and Youth, and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
